This is an upper-intermediate (B2+) English course for students of Tourism Studies. The course reviews upper-intermediate English relevant to the field of Tourism Studies, devoting adequate attention to all four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The course is contextualized to both the general curriculum of a Tourism Studies degree program and the specific linguistic demands of a career in the field of tourism. Participants will review relevant vocabulary and grammar, complete writing assignments and work with authentic texts approaching those they will encounter in a degree program in Tourism Studies, with the aim of improving participants' ability to write about, discuss and present on pertinent topics. Students who meet the minimum prerequisite (B1) should expect to dedicate 4-6 hours per week toward coursework.

The most important goal of the course is to guide the students in the development of the learning strategies they will need to continue to improve their specialized English during their studies at the FUB and as life-long learners of English.
