Empirical Methods is neatly divided into two parts.
Part 1. Probability models
Randomness and probability spaces, Random variables (discrete, continuous), Independence, Bayes Theorem, Expectation, Conditional Probability and Expectation,  Distributions, Variance, Covariance,  Laws of Large Numbers (weak, strong), Central Limit Theorem.
Part 2. Statistical methods

Topics include: Regression, hypothesis testing, linear statistical models, parametric models, non-parametric models.
